Descripción: Currently, there are more than 450 million people worldwide who suffer from hearing impairment. This condition causes them social and psychological problems, since they have problems of social and work isolation, as high stress that reduces their quality of life. This work is a literature review of 104 investigations dedicated to solving the communication problem of deaf people. These investigations have been obtained using a self-developed methodology in combination with the PRISMA 2020 model (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses), from the perspective of the implementation of IoT (Internet of Things) devices, the use of cloud computing services and the development of dedicated databases as a basis for signal detection models based on artificial intelligence algorithms. Finally, an analysis is presented on the influence of IoT devices on the translation of various sign languages through the integration of different sensors, the use of classification tools such as neural networks and machine learning. On the other hand, cloud computing provides solutions that allow the integration of high-performance models, which are available for different types of platforms. In the analyzed research, it is possible to observe an important influence of different artificial intelligence techniques, particularly the use of convolutional neural networks for the identification of gestural signs due to their high effectiveness. Keywords: Cloud computing, Dataset, Mute, People, Internet of things, Sign language.
